The Promised Servant

How much does your sin cost? In Isaiah 53, the prophet spoke of the Messiah who would suffer and die for the sake of the sins of the world. When we celebrate Christmas and remember God's gift in the birth of His Son, Jesus Christ, we are remembering the salvation offered by Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. In today's message, Pastor Phil reminds us of that cost, and the reason we celebrate the birth of Christ at Christmas.

Scripture References: Isaiah 53:1-12

From Series: "Christmas Foretold"

Throughout the Old Testament, there are hundreds of prophecies that Jesus fulfilled. As we approach Christmas this year, we will take a look back at some of those prophecies and see how Jesus was the promised child, the promised servant, and the promised king. On Christmas day we will celebrate together that Jesus came as Messiah to fulfill God’s Word and promise. Our memory verses say it best: “But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship. Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts. The Spirit who calls out, ‘Abba, Father.’ So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has also made you an heir.” (Galatians 4:4-7) What amazing news! Join us as we look at Christmas Foretold!
