ABWE, Brazil
Annual Support $5,700

We are finishing up our third term of church planting in Bauru, Brazil. The church voted to call its first Brazilian pastor and will make a full transition to independence before our return for furlough in June 2016. We are a part of ABWE but are the only missionary family located in this region. The closest ABWE missionaries to us are about a twenty-four-hour drive away.

Who is on your team? As I mentioned, we are the only missionaries here. Our only partners would be Brazilians who are church members and serving in various ministries in the church plant.

Where have you seen God working in your ministry? God has been doing great things…everywhere! Recently, the church voted to call it’s first national pastor. The pastor accepted the call at the end of March. The church is ready to be financially independent as well. One of our main outreach ministries is to a local orphanage. We have a weekly Bible Club on Wednesday nights at the orphanage. On Saturday and Sunday, we get the kids and take them to church for service. There have been fifteen different kids that have made a personal decision to follow Christ. Also, we have been doing a several week baptism study since several have asked about being baptized. God has also used our Small Group Ministry in great ways. The church body comes together in small group once a week to dig deeper into the topic of Sunday’s message and spend time in prayer and fellowship. After furlough, we will embark on a new journey in church planting. It includes a huge move of location; much prayer has been dedicated to this transition. We continue to be very encouraged and excited about where God is leading us and where he has taken us over years! To HIM be the glory and honor and praise.
