The Importance of Invitation

Come and See

Matthew 25:31-46 records Jesus' parable of the sheep and the goats. The sheep are those who, through their faith in Christ, have shown compassion towards Christ's brothers and sisters--those of the church. Their reward is an inheritance from the Lord. The goats are those who, through their unbelief in Christ, have not shown compassion to Christ's brothers and sisters. Their punishment is hell. In today's message, Pastor Phil reminds us that love warns of danger. We need to love others by sharing with them the truth of the wages of sin, and the good news that salvation is found in Jesus Christ.

From Series: "Come and See"

Throughout the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), Jesus continually invites people into a relationship with Him: Come all you who are weary and burdened, come… those who are thirsty, come… those who are hungry, etc. Throughout this series, we will be looking at some of the invitations of Jesus where He invites us to come and see what a relationship with Him looks like. We hope that this series is an encouragement to you. Also, during this series, we are encouraging everyone in the church to have a similar mindset of invitation as Philip did in John 1. When Nathaniel had doubts and questions about Jesus, Philip just invited him to Jesus by saying, “come and see.” So we would love for you to pray and invite others to experience Jesus.
