Let the Children Come

When the disciples tried to keep children from visiting Jesus, He responded with indignation, and said that "anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” (Mark 10:15 NIV) In the books of Matthew, Mark and Luke, this account is contrasted immediately by the story of the rich young ruler, who had followed God's law very closely, but wasn't prepared to let go of his riches. In today's message, Andy Doane explains that to "accept the kingdom of God like a little child" is to come to God humbly, not trusting in our own work to give us a relationship with God.

From Series: "Come and See"

Throughout the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), Jesus continually invites people into a relationship with Him: Come all you who are weary and burdened, come… those who are thirsty, come… those who are hungry, etc. Throughout this series, we will be looking at some of the invitations of Jesus where He invites us to come and see what a relationship with Him looks like. We hope that this series is an encouragement to you. Also, during this series, we are encouraging everyone in the church to have a similar mindset of invitation as Philip did in John 1. When Nathaniel had doubts and questions about Jesus, Philip just invited him to Jesus by saying, “come and see.” So we would love for you to pray and invite others to experience Jesus.
