Align

Scripture References: Matthew 25:14-30

From Series: "Align"

The Great Omission: In American churches, Jesus' last words are often ignored or unknown. A recent study found that 51% of church goers don't know of The Great Commission. https://www.barna.com/research/half-churchgoers-not-heard-great-commission/ Before Jesus ascended into heaven, he gave us this command: "Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age (Matthew 28:19-20)." His last command was a commissioning...for us to make disciples. It is the primary task of the church, and yet we often neglect this command. This fall, we will be preaching a series called "Align: Our Heart. Our Priorities. Our Mission. During this series, we will examine the importance of community in church life, examine our responsibility to make disciples, and give some practical ways that we as a local church can make disciples who make disciples. As part of this process, we will be reading through the book of Acts as a church to see how God used the church to rapidly spread the Gospel to the ends of the earth. Every week we will have 4 readings from Acts and also read the primary passage of the sermon for that week. Please join us in reading along and diving into God's Word together each week.
