Come and Rest

Come and See

Many places in the Bible demonstrate the way God has built rhythms of rest into our lives--from the way God created the world in 6 days and rested on the 7th, to His institution of the Sabbath for the nation of Israel, and the many feasts and celebrations built into their calendar. Today, as believers, our rest is found in the person of Jesus Christ, and scripture makes it clear that we are not to be judged "with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day." (Colossians 2:16, NIV) Still, Pastor Phil encourages us in today's sermon to consider a weekly time of rest.

From Series: "Come and See"

Throughout the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), Jesus continually invites people into a relationship with Him: Come all you who are weary and burdened, come… those who are thirsty, come… those who are hungry, etc. Throughout this series, we will be looking at some of the invitations of Jesus where He invites us to come and see what a relationship with Him looks like. We hope that this series is an encouragement to you. Also, during this series, we are encouraging everyone in the church to have a similar mindset of invitation as Philip did in John 1. When Nathaniel had doubts and questions about Jesus, Philip just invited him to Jesus by saying, “come and see.” So we would love for you to pray and invite others to experience Jesus.
