Should Women Wear Head Coverings?

Men and Women: God\'s Design for the Church, the Home, and the World

In 1 Corinthians 11, we read a command in scripture for women in church to wear head coverings, and for men to have their head uncovered. This reads like direct instruction, and indeed, there are believing women today who wear head coverings--and Christian denominations and communities who affirm the same practice. And yet, we look around today and we recognize that even in church, this is no longer the norm. This raises the question: has the church at large lost touch with one of the commands of scripture? Do we have a responsibility today to wear or to not wear head coverings? In today's message, Pastor Phil examines the historical context and theological underpinnings of 1 Corinthians 11, and the question of how this passage applies to our church now.
